We are Sabina and Otto, and together we believe Acroyoga is about much more than learning impressive tricks.
For us, Acroyoga is a practice of movement, trust, curiosity, and connection. It invites us to explore what becomes possible when we listen, communicate, and support one another. Every class is an opportunity to play, challenge ourselves, laugh, and discover something new, both in our bodies and in ourselves.
Although we each found our own path into Acroyoga, we were drawn to many of the same things: the joy of moving together, the sense of community, and the beautiful surprise that sometimes we are capable of much more than we imagined.
Our teaching combines playful exploration with clear guidance. We love helping people understand the mechanics behind movement, creating a safe environment where beginners feel welcome and experienced practitioners continue to grow.
Whether you're stepping onto the mat for the first time or have years of experience, we hope you'll find a place where you can challenge yourself, make meaningful connections, and simply enjoy moving together.
While in my twenties, looking for an activity that would improve the discomforts in my body, I discovered Acroyoga. It enticed me because it gave me strong foundations in strength, flexibility, trust and awareness. Overtime it became something more, a way of being and playing with others creating a sense of community. Together we learn to overcome our boundaries, we create space to be and feel yourself, sometimes this part of yourself lies undiscovered and you find yourself surprised. It is here where we can grow. Now in my thirties I'm discovering that I'm enjoying these lessons in my personal life; watching my daughter grow, having patience with others, staying curious in order to allow myself to become surprised. Favorite quote "Trust is making that which is valuable to you, vulnerable to the other"
I discovered Acroyoga in 2008, and it immediately felt like coming home. It brought together everything I loved: movement, play, connection, challenge, and the joy of learning with others.
What has kept me coming back isn't just learning impressive skills, but discovering what becomes possible when people trust, communicate, and support one another.
Alongside Acroyoga, I've worked as a dancer, movement teacher, Thai massage practitioner, trainer in Nonviolent Communication, and for over twenty years in healthcare and bodywork. These experiences shape the way I teach today.
I love helping people understand why a movement works. By exploring the mechanics behind a skill, the body often finds the movement with greater ease and confidence.
My goal is to create classes where people feel safe to experiment, laugh, challenge themselves, and grow together.
Whether it's your very first flight or you're refining more advanced skills, I hope you leave each class feeling stronger, more connected, and inspired to come back.
Our Roots
Acroyoga Nijmegen has been part of the Nijmegen community for many years. We are honoured to continue the community lovingly created by Sytske and Trevor, who introduced and nurtured Acroyoga here with great dedication.
We first joined as guest teachers, and over time we were entrusted with continuing the weekly classes. While we each bring our own experience and teaching style, we hope to honour the welcoming, playful and connected spirit they helped cultivate.
We are grateful for the foundation they built and excited to continue growing this beautiful community together.
